Helping girls who cannot help themselves
The Girls of Promise Foundation exists to provide quality training, materials and support for girls whose infinite potential can not be fulfilled on their own. The foundation reaches girls of any race and religion who desire to grow as individuals and to possess the qualities that will set them apart as young ladies and help them suceed in their unique futures.
Girls of Promise founder Sheena Monnin wants to become known as a strong advocate for adoption. She believes she can make a difference in the state of Texas with contributions from company and individual sponsors. She is currently bringing awareness to the people in Texas through speaking engagements and she plans to advertise on billboards, in magazines and newspapers, and at special events. Sheena has expressed an urgent need; she has girls waiting for money to be donated for them to experience "The Essence Of Etiquette" program. This is a six week program, encompassing dining and social etiquette, that changes any life it touches and is a valuable tool to a girl of promise.
CURRENT PLAN: In addition to The Essence of Etiquette training, to bring awareness and be a voice for adoptable girls in the foster care system.
5-YEAR PLAN: To create a residential program, for elementary age girls in the foster care system that are adoptable or any underprivileged girl. |
WHAT IS A GIRL OF PROMISE? Each girl has three possible realities: |
The first is what is. This reality is found in the present - circumstances, environment, family, heritage, etc. This is the box in which each girl is currently found. |
The second reality is what could be. In this reality is found all of the future potential that a girl might have. It is a combination of gifts, talents, personality and promise - all mixed with the right opportunity.

The third reality is what will be. The final reality of any girl will be the sum total of the external influences that she will be allowed to experience through others. In summary, it is the measure of how close she will be allowed, through external influences, to come to what could be.
